On Flinders Street in Thornbury (only a short drive from our warehouse), we upgraded multiple timber windows and an entry door to reduce draughts and traffic noise without compromising the look of the home. Several rooms received 6.38mm Comfort Plus laminated glass, the rest were fully serviced and sealed, and every sash now feels tighter, smoother, and noticeably quieter.
This client wanted two things: stop the draughts and take the edge off traffic noise across key rooms, while keeping the existing timber windows functioning properly. The scope included a mix of full glass upgrades, core service-only windows, and a double entry door service — all approached as one system so the whole house performs better, not just the rooms with new glass.

Scope of works
We carried out core services across the window set, with top sashes made inoperable to maximise sealing and stability. Five double-hungs received new 6.38mm Comfort Plus laminated glass, including two fixed sashes that were removed and re-glazed to match. Three additional double-hungs received core service only, and the entry double door was serviced and fitted with Q-seal for improved closure and air-tightness.
Client feedback
“Sealasash recently installed draught seals and laminated glass in several rooms in our house. The quality of the work is excellent and we are very pleased with the results. During every stage of the project, the communication was excellent and they even managed to squeeze in our project a bit earlier as per my request. Matt was very knowledgeable and checked in with us about various details, and even gave advice about other ways to further reduce traffic noise in our house. Bal, Jesse, and Ed were friendly and respectful workers to have in our house for 3 days! Thank you all so much!”

Outcome
Comfort Plus laminated glass makes a real difference to perceived noise, but the big win comes when it’s paired with a proper service and sealing package. The result here is a home that feels calmer and tighter room-to-room, with smoother operation on every sash, better sealing at the meeting rails, and a noticeable reduction in draughts and traffic noise — delivered with clear communication and a respectful, tidy crew throughout.
