In Fitzroy North, we serviced five original double-hung sash windows across the front study, bedroom and bathroom. Three windows received a targeted E-Tech glass upgrade (including toughened glass in the bathroom), the top sashes were made inoperable for better performance, and the whole set now opens and closes smoothly while holding temperature far better.
This home had five sash windows that needed to function properly again and perform better thermally — without unnecessary changes. The front study were undercover and in good condition, so they received the full core service but kept their existing glass. The Bedroom and Bathroom were the priority for a glass upgrade to E-Tech to lift comfort where it matters most day-to-day.

Scope of works
We completed a full core service to all five double-hung windows, including staff bead, parting bead, white brush seals and cords as required. Across the set, the top sashes were made inoperable to tighten the system up and maximise sealing and stability.
Hardware and finish
To complete the upgrade, we installed locks and one lift in antique brass, keeping the look sympathetic to the window while improving everyday usability.
Client feedback
“I had five windows to do. The guys were in and out in two days. They arrived on time or before time and did a terrific job. They were efficient, clean and left the place with no rubbish or mess. I’m now enjoying having the thermal properties of the glass and also being able to open and close the sash windows with ease. Thoroughly recommend.”

Outcome
This was a proper “whole-of-window” improvement: smoother operation across every sash, tighter sealing, and noticeably better comfort where the glass was upgraded — without changing the character of the home. The two-day turnaround, clean site, and functional result is exactly how these projects should feel when they’re done right.
